Book Addicts Attend July Cover Girls!

Okay, so I’m a sucker for a good book club.  You want to know how many I’m in? Uh, I think it’s down to three – and I could be wrong.

I found out about the Cover Girls book club hosted at and by Legacy Book store in Plano during a chance visit with a co-worker.  We were in that neck of the woods early for a business meeting and got sucked into the three floors of book-wonderful.  We had a chance meeting with a lovely woman there who runs the Romance section and she told me all about their book club.  I didn’t actually read a romance until this year; it’s something very new for me – but several of my friends (okay, everyone but me!) subscribes to one form or another of the genre.

Cover Girls is really neat in that they pick three to four books a month, each covering a different type of Romance, to read for the book club.  This last month the books were Assassin’s Honor by Monica Burns, Crazy for Love by Victoriah Dahl, The Wicked Wyckerly by Pat Rice, and one other title, the name of which escapes me.

It’s a large book club, very fun and very friendly.  The format is an open circle of women, the organizer talks about the upcoming books and new releases that might interest the participants and then they open the floor for discussion.  I was a little sad that the two books I read weren’t as well liked; I enjoyed them both more than everyone else I guess!  And that’s okay.

In case you’re interested, Cover Girls is the first Tuesday of the month at Legacy bookstore in Plano.  They give 10% (or is it 15%?) off to those attending the book club who buy romances in store that night.  Yes, we go with lists!  Check out their website for more information, author signings and local events.  We’ll be going back on Friday for the Rachel Caine book signing!
